THE EXPERIENCE

Let’s start by getting to know one another! Aside from your partner, you’ll spend the most time with your photographer on your wedding day.

Let’s be friends! I’m eager to learn about your relationship and vision for this celebration of everything that makes you love one another.

How long have you been photographing weddings? Are you comfortable giving direction?

I photographed my first wedding in 2013 and have since worked with hundreds of couples. I love that no two weddings are alike! My approach is generally photojournalistic, but I’m nuanced in reading the room, and providing guidance and vision when it makes folks more comfortable. In addition to the necessary classics, I’m after true candids, the kind your great uncle snapped at grandparents’ wedding.

Do you use film?

It’s integral to my art. I started experimentally incorporating film into weddings in 2020, and it has been the most meaningful transformation. In the age of AI, film adds a human touch, and at times, an element of the imperfect in the most gorgeous way. As of 2025, the photographs I deliver are about half film and half digital. I bring an assortment of vintage film cameras from the 20th century, 35mm to medium format.

Do you make albums?

All of my wedding collections come with a 12x12” leather-bound album. They’re true heirlooms, including an average of 100+ photographs inside.

Should we do an engagement session?

Engagement sessions are such a great way to break the ice and come away with more casual photos for save-the-dates. That said, if it’s not a priority for you, or simply not in your budget, that’s ok! We’ll still make amazing photos on your wedding day.

Are you LGBTQ+ friendly?

1000% yes!! I’m sorry that this is a question that even needs to be asked.

Are you into science?

Yes. And especially vaccines.

Do we get print rights? Can you print our photos?

You have print rights to all of your images, meaning you can download and print them anywhere. For convenience, your online gallery comes with an embedded shop, meaning that if one of your guests wants to print a photo (or 50) directly from the gallery they can easily choose which size and from a selection of prints, cards, canvases, mounted prints, and metal prints.

Can we share our photos online?

Share share share! I just ask that you credit McKenzie Elizabeth Photography with a tag and that you not apply filters to your images. You can also share your gallery link with family and friends and they are welcome to use your PIN to download anything they’d like. This is a great way to say thank you to your guests and a perfect incentive for a cell-phone-free ceremony where your loved ones are engaged with real life rather than a screen. The promise of a gallery link is great motivation.

Are you insured?

Yes. Happy to provide documents to your venue if needed.

When will we receive our photos?

Your gallery will be ready within eight weeks.
